My micro-teaching lesson was focused on Social Science, topic Population. Most the elements of my lesson went well, the learners were engaged in the lesson and responded enthusiastically. The lesson was well-structed and thoughtfully crafted.

My lesson objectives aligned with bloom’s taxonomy, which focused on getting learners to understand the content. The lesson objectives helped ensure that learners know what to expect at the end of the lesson. The inclusion of different teaching strategies and use of multiple resources helped support different learning styles that learners had. Using real-life examples of population made the topic relatable and easy for the learners to understand. The lesson addressed different learning needs, particularly through visual aids and structured discussions. I used appropriate ICT tools for this lesson, such as PowerPoints and YouTube. These tools were very useful for my lesson as the helped enhance my lesson and encourage learner interaction.
Even though the lesson went very well, I have encountered some challenges. A few of my learners had difficulties with connecting to the lesson, this made interacting with them a but difficult. The only solution I had at that moment was to just wait for the learners to reconnect, this made me think about having alternative ways to solve this for the future. Maybe for the future send out the lesson PowerPoint to the learners so that they are able to see the content from their laptops even when not connected to the internet. Another challenge I faced was time allocation, because of waiting for the learners to reconnect my time frame was shortened.
This experience has prepared me for teaching an online class, know the dynamic of how an online class works. This lesson taught me how to adapt and be flexible in an online class. It also prepared me to always have multiple plans in how I conduct my lesson, to always have an incase plan to support every learner.
I believe that to make my classroom better, I need to take my supervisors' and peers' input into consideration. the feedback I received from my peers helped me see my faults on my delivery and engagement techniques. They offered advice on how to improve my speed of teaching and clarity, especially when giving lengthy explanations, and to also take in consideration that some learners are shy when I want them to engage in the class. I should also try to change my class plans to include more visual aids and to give students more time for questions after considering their feedback. As I continue to hone my teaching strategies, this reflective practice of incorporating feedback will be crucial to providing my learners with a more productive learning environment in subsequent classes.

The alignment of Bloom`s taxonomy, ICT and real-life examples made your lesson very interesting. As you covered the levels, you ensured that learners understood. You recognising and taking the feedback from your supervisor and peers will definitely help you in your future lessons
Charity, your reflection shows a strong commitment to effective online teaching. Aligning lesson objectives with Bloom's taxonomy and using various strategies, including ICT tools and real-life examples, made the lesson engaging and accessible. Acknowledging challenges with connectivity and time management, you've proposed proactive solutions like sharing materials beforehand. Your openness to peer feedback and willingness to adjust your pace and incorporate more visual aids highlight a growth mindset. These changes will enhance learner engagement and create a more inclusive learning environment. Keep embracing flexibility and reflecting on your teaching practices to continue improving. As someone who was present for this class I commend you for the phenomenal work, amazing work!
Great reflection on your micro-teaching experience! It’s fantastic to see how you aligned your lesson with Bloom’s taxonomy and adapted your teaching to different learning styles. I love how you used real-life examples and ICT tools to make the lesson engaging. Your adaptability in facing challenges, especially with connectivity issues, shows great problem-solving skills. Incorporating peer feedback into your future lessons will only make you an even stronger teacher. Well done🌷
Well structured lesson plan and great use of different teaching strategies. Impressed to see that you seek perfection within your flaws, by finding ways to improve through others perspectives. Indeed those are great qualities of an effective educator. Well Done Mam.
